Clerks – 1994 American black-and-white comedy film written and directed by Kevin Smith in his feature directorial debut. Starring Smith alongside Brian O’Halloran, Jeff Anderson, Marilyn Ghigliotti, Lisa Spoonauer, Jason Mewes, and Scott Mosier. It is the first of Smith’s View Askewniverse films, and introduces several recurring characters, notably Jay and Silent Bob (played by Mewes and Smith respectively).

Jay and Silent Bob Reboot is a 2019 American satirical buddy stoner comedy film written, directed, edited by, and starring Kevin Smith. A sequel to Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, it is the eighth film in the View Askewniverse. 

In the movie “Clerks”, a sign is posted out front saying “I assure you we’re open” yet customers still ask as they enter “Are you open?”

The Adventures of Baron Munchausen is a 1988 fantasy adventure film co-written and directed by Terry Gilliam, starring John Neville, Eric Idle, Sarah Polley, Oliver Reed, Uma Thurman, Jonathan Pryce and Valentina Cortese. An international co-production of the United Kingdom, the United States and Germany, the film is based on the tall tales of the 18th-century German nobleman, Baron Munchausen, and his wartime exploits against the Ottoman Empire.

Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC) - 1942

The Women’s Army Corps was the women’s branch of the United States Army. It was created as an auxiliary unit, the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps (WAAC), on 15 May 1942, and converted to an active duty status in the Army of the United States as the WAC on 1 July 1943. The WAC was disbanded on 20 October 1978, and all WAC units were integrated with male units.

Women enrolled into the WAACs who had not been issued uniforms wore this button on their civilian clothes until a uniform could be issued

Major Indoor Soccer League - MISL



The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), known in its final two seasons as the Major Soccer League, was an indoor soccer league in the United States that played matches from fall 1978 to spring 1992. The league fielded six teams for its inaugural 1978–79 season. Before folding after 14 seasons of competition, at the conclusion of the 1991–92 season, a total of 24 franchises – under 31 team names (seven teams changed city/name) – had played in the MISL.


New Jersey Rockets played in the Major Indoor Soccer League for the 1981–82 season. Their home arena was the Brendan Byrne (Meadowlands) Arena. The Rockets' average attendance for their one season of play was 6,565.

Childhood is Hell - Matt Groening


Life in Hell was a comic strip by Matt Groening that was published weekly from 1977 to 2012. Its main characters include anthropomorphic rabbits and a gay couple. 

Groening, would go on to created the Simpsons TV series, published several books featuring the Life in Hell characters

Jerry Koosman - Big Bite : 1970s





Jerry Koosman – American professional baseball pitcher, played in Major League Baseball for the New York Mets, Minnesota Twins, Chicago White Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies between 1967 and 1985. Koosman is best known as a member of the Miracle Mets team that won the 1969 World Series.
